Geo-Drill Project Shown at Geothermal Clustering Workshop

Tue, 01 November, 2022

Challenges and learning from the Geo-Drill project were shared at The European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency’s (CINEA) Geothermal Clustering Event.

Held in Berlin during the European Geothermal Congress 2022 (EGC2022), the workshop brought together project representatives from a number of H2020 and Horizon Europe initiatives that support the exploitation and sustainability of geothermal energy.

This synergistic platform for knowledge sharing among geothermal enthusiasts invited TWI’s Dr. Jon Blackburn, Damien Kirkpatrick and Dr. Namrata Kale, who presented updates on the TWI led collaborative Geo-Drill project, as well as for the GEOPRO, GEOHEX, Geo-Drill, and GeoSmart projects.

These four projects are bringing organisations from across the UK and Europe together to provide innovative solutions to the spectrum of challenges in geothermal energy.

The event also included presentations from other geothermal energy projects including CRM-geothermal, CROWDTHERMAL, EASYGO-ITN, GECO, GEO4CIVHIC, GEOTHERM-FOR A, OPTIDRILL, GEOTHERMICA, ORCHYD and REFLECT.
